The whitewater of the upper valley
The Soussouéou descends from the heights of Artouste, the Valentin cuts into the Eaux-Bonnes slope. Two high-altitude canyons, two complementary atmospheres, sharing the same physical and technical commitment. On the program: equipped rappels, committed jumps, and high mountain landscapes.
Soussouéou: the upper glacial valley
The Soussouéou starts in a hanging cirque, accessible after an approach of about 30 minutes at altitude. The water is cold, the flow sustained, the granite polished by glaciers. A succession of slides and jumps punctuate the descent, interspersed with long pools where you swim between sculpted walls. A complete canyon, combining hiking, technique and contemplation.
Today, he devotes all his activity to professional outdoor instruction in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, which he knows by heart. Canyoning, cliff climbing, multi-pitch climbing, via ferrata: his field of action covers all vertical and aquatic activities in the region.
Valentin: the great classic of Eaux-Bonnes
The Valentin canyon is located just above the village of Eaux-Bonnes. More accessible than the Soussouéou (15-minute approach), it features several scenic rappels, including a spectacular final one in the middle of a waterfall. The flow varies greatly depending on the season: Étienne adapts the choice of the day according to conditions.
