Bitet is one of the most iconic canyons in the Pyrenees. It unfolds over several hours through narrow gorges, with around ten successive rappels, committing jumps, and a spectacular mineral environment. Once you’re committed to Bitet, there’s no turning back: that’s what makes it so valuable.

How do I know if I'm ready for Bitet?
Étienne asks you a few specific questions before booking: number of canyons already completed, difficulty level, comfort on ropes. If any doubt remains, he suggests a descent of Soussouéou beforehand to validate your level.
Is it dangerous?
Committing doesn’t mean dangerous. With professional guidance, proper equipment, careful assessment of conditions, and a group at the right level, Bitet can be descended safely. It’s the mental commitment—knowing you can’t stop—that gives it its reputation.
